Ude Ate Waza – Striking Technique

Shotei – Palm Heal

Application – Open Hand Technique

Application Use – Fluid shock wave, disperses force enabling more power to be delivered to hard target areas, reducing injury to the delivery. The Palm heal technique aides in moving to gripping control techniques, and visually looks less aggressive.

Technique - Delivered with a relaxed hand with the heal of the hand

Target Areas
Front - nose, jaw, brachial plexus origin, collarbone, sternum, bicep, triceps, brachial tie-in, groin, and rectus femoris

Back – Suprascapular, 5th & 6th thoracic vertebra (between shoulder blades), intercostals


Tettsuui – Fist Edge (hammer fist)

Application – Closed Hand Technique

Application Use – Fluid shock wave, disperses force enabling more power to be delivered to hard target areas reducing injury to the delivery, differing from a Forefist technique.

Technique - Delivered with a relaxed hand when the hand is clenched either by the heal end of the hand or the thumb side.

Target Areas
Front - nose, jaw, brachial plexus origin, collarbone, sternum, bicep, triceps, brachial tie-in, groin, and rectus femoris

Back – Suprascapular, 5th & 6th thoracic vertebra (between shoulder blades), intercostals

Shuto - Knife Hand

Application – Open Hand Technique

Application Use – Stun method, focusing force to the target area.

Technique - Delivered with a relaxed hand and tenses on impact - striking with the edge of the flatten hand (little finger side).

Target Areas
Front - nose, jaw, temple, and brachial plexus origin, side of neck, collarbone, bicep, groin, and rectus femoris

Back – Suprascapular, 5th & 6th thoracic vertebra (between shoulder blades), intercostals

Haito - Inner knife hand

Application – Open Hand Technique

Application Use – Stun method, focusing force to the target area.

Technique - Delivered with a relaxed hand and tenses on impact - striking with the edge of the flatten hand (thumb side). Note thumb keep along the hand.

Target Areas
Front - nose, jaw, temple, brachial plexus origin, groin, and sternum.

Back – intercostals

Hiranken - Half Clenched Fist

Application – Semi-opened Hand Technique

Application Use – Dual-purpose technique - Fluid shock wave disperses force enabling more power to be delivered to hard target areas, reducing injury to the delivery. In addition, soft target technique used to grip and rip at the soft target.

Technique - Delivered with heal of the hand and a semi clenched fist.
Target Areas
Front - nose, eyes, throat, side of the neck, and groin

Back – Suprascapular, femoral nerve, and intercostals

Kote - Forearm

Application – Stunning Technique

Application Use – Dual purpose technique - Fluid shock wave, dispersing force enabling more power to be delivered to the target areas, reduces injury to the delivery. In addition, used as a blocking method to stop movement or to counter a striking technique from the opponent.

Technique - Delivered with inside or outside of the forearm depending on the target and application of the technique.

Target Areas
Front – Nose, throat, Collarbone, chest, side of the neck, groin, bicep, radial nerve, and common perennial.

Back – Suprascapular and intercostals

Hiji – Elbow

Application – Impact Technique

Application Use – Focuses force to a target point using the hard point of the elbow.

Technique - There is three methods of delivery,1 hooking motion, 2 ice pick motion, and 3 uppercut motion, each depending on the target and application of the technique.

Target Areas
Front – Crown of head, temple, nose, jaw, throat, Collarbone, chest, shoulder griddle, side of the neck, femoral nerve and common perennial.

Back – Suprascapular, 5th & 6th thoracic vertebra (between shoulder blades), intercostals.

Haisho – Backhand

Application – Semi-opened Hand Technique

Application Use – Focuses force to a target point using the knuckles, if hand is relaxed this technique also creates a fluid shock wave.

Techniques - Delivered with a semi clenched or tighten hand, relaxing until impact

Target Areas
Front – Temple, nose, jaw, throat, collarbone, chest, bicep, side of the neck, femoral nerve and common perennial and tibial nerve motor point.

Back – 5th & 6th thoracic vertebra (between shoulder blades), intercostals.

Seiken – Forefist

Application – Impact Technique

Application Use – Focuses force to a target point using the hard point of the knuckles when the hand is in a fist

Technique - There is three methods of delivery,1 hooking motion, 2 jabbing / cross motion, and 3 uppercut motion, each depending on the target and application of the technique. Delivered with a clenched hand, tightening on impact to the target.

Safety comment: Striking to hard target areas may cause injuries to the user; safety pre-cautions i.e. Gloves should be used; otherwise the user should strike to soft target areas to avoid injury.

Target Areas
Front – Temple, nose, jaw, throat, chest, and shoulder griddle, side of the neck, femoral nerve and common perennial.

Back – Intercostals

Toho - Sword Peak Hand

Application – Open Hand Technique

Application Use – Fluid shock wave, disperses force enabling more power to be delivered to target areas, used for self-defence - attacking vulnerable points by striking and then ripping at the target point.

Technique - Delivered with a relaxed cupped hand with the inside edge, between the thumb and the index finger.

Target Areas – Throat, sub-axillary bundle, and groin

Nukite - Spear Hand

Application – Open Hand Technique

Application Use – Focuses force to a target point using the tips of the fingers, in a spearing action.

Technique - Delivered with a straighten hand in a spearing motion to a soft target area. Safety comment, fingers should be slightly bent to avoid dislocation.

Target Areas
Front – Eye, jugular notch, sub-clavicle nerve, sternum notch, and shoulder griddle, femoral nerve and groin.

Back – Intercostals

Oyayubi Ipponken - Thumb One-Finger Fist

Application – Impact / Control Technique

Application Use – Focuses force to a target point for stunning and immobilising a nerve center.

Technique - Delivered with the tip of the thumb supported by the clenched fist.

Target Areas
Front – Eye, jugular notch, facial nerve, mandibular angle, hypoglossal nerve, sub-clavicle nerve, sternum notch, and shoulder griddle, femoral nerve and groin.

Back – Intercostals
