Worse Side Hand and Foot SparringJust Foot or Hand Sparring Rotational SparringCircle Attack Multiple training partners form a circle with kick bags. Three variations of increasing intensity:
1. Circle of bags doesn’t move - Person in the middle strikes / kicks bags at random, practicing keeping an eye on all ‘attackers’
2. Circle moves slightly clockwise or anti-clockwise. ‘Attackers’ take it in turns to move towards the person in the middle who responds with a strike / kick /knee etc, but doesn’t try to escape the circle. Attackers maintain distance after the person in the middle responds (that is the circle re-forms, doesn’t keep crowding the person too much). If an attacker comes from behind and the person in the middle can’t see them, yell out to indicate ‘attack’ is coming.
3. ‘Attackers’ move towards the bunny in the middle. The person in the middle defends and seeks to move out of the circle, using ‘attackers’ as shields where appropriate. ‘Attackers’ continue to attempt to re-circle around the bunny.
Good practice for getting used to using short-range weapons, distancing with group attacks, using peripheral vision to monitor attackers, acquiring shields, ‘taking out’ attackers quickly – not spending too much time on one while another is coming.
